What will 12 miles of Red Heart get you?

Why a knitted Ferrari of course.

"Art graduate Lauren Porter, 22, is queen of the road after knitting herself a full-size Ferrari sports car. “I get men admiring the racing lines and old women admiring the stitches,” Lauren, whose 12 Miles of Yarn will exhibit at Studio 95, said." (originally found via Dooce - not a knitting blog at all!)

Eye Candy - HOT chicks

I'm doing it. I'm featuring hot chicks for my Eye Candy Friday picture.

These are some of the gals from my intimate circle at the Women's Leadership Conference I attended last week.

Erin, Lauren, Karin and Dawn you are beautiful, powerful women and I love you to death!

Friday Night Knitting Club

Just a little something that caught my eye on the MSN hompage this morning:

"After taking a break to raise her babies and then to act on Broadway, Julia Roberts continues to rake up new movie projects. Variety reports that Roberts has agreed to star and co-produce "The Friday Night Knitting Club" for Universal Pictures. Based on an upcoming novel by Kate Jacobs, the story focuses on a mom faced with balancing the demands of her "spunky" teenage daughter and running a Manhattan knitting store (perhaps the only one on the island). Her regular customers meet once a week to share their latest projects and kvetch, but when a tragedy occurs, they realize they are more than just casual acquaintances. And yes, it does sound very thematic to Roberts' early flick "Steel Magnolias" (I'm pining for a Sally Field breakdown moment, how about you?). No writer or director is on board yet to adapt the book, but Roberts will put it in the queue with her other in-the-works projects such as "Eat, Pray, Love" and "Charlie Wilson's War" opposite Tom Hanks."

I haven't read this book, but now it looks like it's going into the queue. When this movie is released I envision a firestorm of movie knit-nights similar to Stitch n Pitch. Can't wait!

Personality Test

Hello all!

I've been out of the game for a bit! I just returned from a 10 day Women's Leadership Seminar held in Clearlake Oaks, CA. It was a fabulous, sacred week. More on that later. Maybe.

I just started touring my blog circut - 10 days without computer or phone access has really put me behind... on everything! After reading Duchess' blog, I couldn't resist doing a personality quiz for myself. I found this rather accurate - in many ways it is parallel with what I discovered about myself last week.

"You are sociable, outgoing, energetic, and lively. You prefer to be around people much of the time. You are generally calm and composed, reacting moderately well to situations that most people would describe as stressful. A desire for tradition does not prevent you from trying new things. Your thinking is neither simple nor complex. To others you appear to be a well-educated person but not an intellectual. You have some concern with others' needs, and are generally pleasant, sympathetic, and cooperative. You set clear goals and pursue them with determination. People regard you as reliable and hard-working."

Although I agree with the results, I would like to see my "openness to new experiences" chart higher. Something to work on...

Although it was a powerful week, I'm glad I'm home! Off to read more blogs!
